Firearm Homicide Rates (FHRs) increased in 42/50 states from 2015-2021, including in states that tightened and loosened gun control laws after deadly mass shootings.
The horse has left the barn long ago on gun control in the US. Australia successfully de-armed its population, but for cultural reasons, and because of the sheer numbers of weapons already in circulation here (more guns than people), it is simply impossible here.
I personally do not see a state-imposed solution that will work under our current form of government. We will just have to live (or die) with the consequences of our unique culture with respect to guns.
I am personally not a gun owner, and never have been or will be. Where I live, having one in the house is vastly more dangerous than not having one. I think that is true for the vast majority of Americans who do not live on a ranch somewhere.
Thanks for your research. I think it backs up my comments.
